President David Granger today handed over laptop complete with a printer, headphones, a DVD writer and a flash drive to Ceion Rollox an 18-year old, visually impaired first year student of the University of Guyana.
Rollox, who resides at Sophia, lost his sight at the age of 14. However, this did not stop him from achieving success at the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate (CSEC) exams, through the Guyana Institute for the Blind, GINA said.
It added that he wrote to President Granger seeking assistance to acquire a laptop, which would enable him to use a special software with speech synthesisers as he pursues a Degree in Communications.
