Following his history making feat of being the first Guyanese to assess a FIFA World Cup Qualifying match in June 2015, present FIFA Assessor Roy McArthur will be adding further to his august resume when he leaves Guyana to participate in a match of the CONCACAF Champions League.
The former referee will depart Guyana tomorrow for Utah, the United States of America for the fixture between Real Salt Lake and Panamanian unit Santa Tecla FC. The match will be held at the Rio Tino Stadium from 20:00hrs.
Mc Arthur will oversee the officiating crew featuring Jamaicans Kevin Morrison, Dwight Royal, Keble Williams and Trinidad and Tobago native Ainsley Rochard. This appointment is the fifth thus far in the year for the veteran official.
McArthur, who officiated in the 2006 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match between Honduras and Netherlands Antilles, also assessed the 2015 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match between Aruba and Barbados on June 10.
Previously, the veteran official performed duties as Assessor in the CONCACAF U20 event in Jamaica in January, in group-4 of the CFU Club Championship in Haiti in April and in the final of the CFU Club Championship in Trinidad and Tobago last month.
