The South Central People’s Development Association of Rupununi has created history for Guyana, winning the United Nations Development Fund’s Equator Prize for the year 2015.
The local non-governmental organization has become one of 20 organizations to capture the award of US$10,000, a press release from the Ministry of the Presidency said. It added that it is the first time Guyana has managed to capture that prize. In addition the group’s winning initiative will be supported to participate
