Two men were yesterday remanded to prison on a charge that they robbed a pastor.
Jamal Thomas and Kenrick Cosia were charged with robbing Sydney George of two cellular phones, valued at $144,000, as well as $3,000.
Both men pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to prosecutor Deniro Jones, George, who is also a taxi driver, had transported Thomas and Cosia to Kitty after they hired him.
Upon their arrival, a sharp object was placed to George’s neck and the men demanded that he hand over everything he had.
They fled but George managed to stop a passing police patrol, which scoured the area for the two accused. The men were apprehended a short distance away and they were later identified by George as the men who robbed him.
The prosecutor also related that the stolen items were also discovered in their possession.
Jones objected to bail and as a result both men were remanded to prison until their next court appearance, which is scheduled for October 16.
