President David Granger travelled to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago last Wednesday where he met with new Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, a release from the Ministry of the Presidency said yesterday.
It was the first meeting of the two since Rowley was elected in September.
The release said that Granger and Rowley re-affirmed the bi-lateral relationship between Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.
The two leaders discussed a wide range of matters including the bolstering of bi-lateral relations in the areas of agriculture, energy cooperation and skills development.
The release said that Granger used the opportunity to brief Prime Minister Rowley on the recent developments re-garding Venezuelan ag-gression in relation to Guyana’s sovereign territory. The release said that Rowley expressed the hope that the “matter would be resolved peacefully and in the best interest of all in accordance with international law. “
