Region Six Chairman, David Armogan has confirmed that the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) is preparing to tender for its 2015 capital project, this week.
According to a press release from the Govern-ment Information Agency (GINA), Armogan stated that the $260M outlined in the 2015 National Budget will cover several capital projects including the upgrade of the operating theatre and completion of the outpatient wing of the Skeldon Hospital.
Also the purchase of ambulances, rehabilitation of the Leeds Primary School, and the construction and restoration of the sanitary blocks at the Skeldon and Black Bush Polder schools.
Also included among the capital projects is the completion of the RDC buildings at Springlands; revetment works at Siparuta, Grant 1805 and Orealla; construction of bridges at Lesbeholden, Mibicuri, Angoy’s Avenue, Courtland Village, New Amsterdam, Grant 1708/1802, Yakusari, Warren and Number 69/70 Villages; road rehabilitation at Savannah Park, Tucber, Caracas, Mibicuri South, Grant 1803 and Cumberland.
According to Armogan contracts have been tendered for repairs to five of the region’s schools, Fort Ordnance, Belvedere, Gibraltar/Courtland primary schools as well as Port Mourant and Manchester secondary.
Maintenance will specifically target roofs, walls and stairs, as well as replacement of windows and tackling the problem of bat infestation.
While awaiting the implementation of the Capital Projects, Region Six has completed its road rehabilitation assignments for 2015 as it continues to execute maintenance works in progress.
