Five of Guyana’s best cyclists spearheaded by National Road Race Champion, Hamza Eastman will suit up in the national colours when they represent the nation at the 15th Caribbean Elite Cycling Championships set for this weekend in Barbados.
Team Guyana will join over 19 other countries and over 90 wheelsmen to compete in the event organized by the Barbados Cycling Union with the support of the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI), the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the Caribbean Cycling Federation (CCC).
Alanzo Greaves, Geron Williams, Michael Anthony and Orville Hinds will join Eastman in Guyana’s charge to medal at the annual event.
The team along with president of the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF), Horace Burrowes, Maria Leung (GCF Secretary) and Enzo Matthews (Team Official) are scheduled to depart on Friday.
The men’s time trials will pedal off at 08:00hrs and will see the riders biking solo for 37.4km.
On Sunday, the men’s road race starts at 11:30hrs for 158.4km.
