(Jamaica Observer) KINGSTON, Jamaica — Retired West Indies cricketer Nehemiah Perry is now before the court on accusations he physically assaulted his wife six years ago.
The 47-year-old, who is now an insurance advisor, had his bail extended until November 24 when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today.
Perry reportedly punched his wife in her eyes, head and several times in the face as an argument over the use of a motor car turned physical.
Reports are that when the matter was first reported in 2009, police officers at the Duhaney Park Police Station advised her to seek counselling.
But, the complainant was reportedly not satisfied with the counselling and made a report on August 19.
Perry was served with a summons on September 23 to appear in court.
