National men’s singles champion Nigel Bryan and top female player Natalie Cummings won the prestigious men and women’s singles titles as the inaugural Titans Gold Cup anniversary tournament concluded Sunday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports hall.
While for Cummings it was all smooth sailing, Bryan was forced to avenge an earlier defeat to Joel Alleyne which he did in empathic fashion in the men’s singles final winning 4-0.
Cummings proved that with Trenace Lowe and Chelsea Edghill overseas, she is the top female player and hardly worked up a sweat in defeating rising star Neveah Clarkston who had upset Jody Ann Blake in the semi-final.
The three-day tournament saw double wins for Shemar Britton and Clarkston while Colin France ruled the roost in the veterans categories.
Another rising star, Brandon Jaikarran, won the boys U13 category and placed second in the u15 category while Kaysan Ninvalle continued his dominance of the U11 category and was runner up in the u13 division.
