Kevon Boodie celebrates his century

Kevon Boodie yesterday slammed an emphatic century for the Shimron Hetmyer XI which reached 272 all out on the third day of the four-day practice match at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground.

They were replying to Leon Johnson’s XI’s first innings score of 344.

Batting a second time Johnson’s XI were 125-3 at close of play with Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Vishaul Singh not out on 14 and four respectively. Opener Assad Fudadin made 82.They have an overall lead of 197 runs.

Boodie’s top score of 130 was a mixture of maturity, raw aggression and timing. He faced 197 balls and batted for some 292 minutes, clobbering 13 crisp fours and three sixes.

Skipper Shimron Hetmyer had on the second day, laid the foundation with a stylish 53.
