Two new private non-resident companies are among the 28 business houses that have joined the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) so far this year, the Chamber’s First Vice President Vishnu Doerga has told Stabroek Business.
Fujitsu Caribbean, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the multi-billion-dollar Fujitsu Group and a part of Fujitsu North America is the leading IT Services and Solutions provider to the region’s governments and private sector organizations. The company became a member of the Chamber in June this year.
In August, the prestigious PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the largest professional services firms in the world and one of the leading auditing institutions became a member of the Chamber.
Last July, the Chamber secured another prestigious private sector member when Guyana Goldfields, which signed a Mineral Agreement with the Government of Guyana and received the Mining Licence in November 2011 to operate and build the Aurora Gold Project joined the Chamber.
Since January, three local manufacturing entities, Umami Inc, Sueria Manufacturing and Oriental General Stores Ltd, joined the Chamber. 2015 also saw the three businesses that provide services to the tourism sector, Grand Coastal Inn, North West Travel and Ashmin’s Fun Park & Resort become members of the Chamber.
