At about 0130h. today, the police say that Umgrie Parmanand, 55 years, of Bath, WCB, was aroused by the sound of persons in his home.
Two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, had entered the home through an open window and held up Umgrie Parmanand, his wife Chandroutie Parmanand, 52 years, and son Latchman Parmanand, 26 years, during which Latchman was shot to his left foot.
The police say that the perpetrators took away an undisclosed sum of cash and a quantity of jewellery and escaped.
Latchman Parmanand has been admitted to hospital as the investigations continue.
