Yesterday marked on year since the disappearance of Troy Greenidge, whose mother is still seeking the public’s help to find him.
Seeta Persaud, of John Fernandes Housing Scheme, told Stabroek News that Greenidge, 27, worked as a miner and he came out of the interior on October 9th, 2014.
On October 16th, Persaud recalled, her son left home to collect his pay from his employer. He never returned home.
Greenidge was a witness into the case against policeman Terrence Wallace, who was charged with killing Agricola teen Shaquille Grant on September 11, 2012 at Agricola.
The mother said that she does not know her son’s employer but she believes that Greenidge was abducted. She is asking the public to relay any information anyone may have that may lead to her son’s whereabouts.
Persaud also said she visited the office of the Minister of Public Security Khemraj Ramjattan but she was not allowed to see him. The mother said that she has since written two letters to the minister to get an audience with him but she received no response.
Wallace, who went on trial earlier this year, was found not guilty of the charge.
Lance Corporal Warren Blue and Special Constable Jamal Lewis were also charged with Grant’s murder but they were never arrested. Warrants had been issued for their arrest. Blue was subsequently shot and killed during a botched robbery on the East Coast of Demerara, while Lewis remains at large.
