Junior Minister of Public Infrastructure Annette Ferguson has instructed that all roads in West Ruimveldt be upgraded.
“…More roads will be done…I told the technical guys, that before coming out of the West Ruimveldt area, they are to do a thorough assessment…which roads are left to be done, let us make one thing, and complete all roads within the community,” Minister Ferguson was quoted as saying by the Government Information Agency (GINA).
She inspected the roads that were being done by the Ministry’s Force Account Unit on Friday.
She told GINA that she was pleased with the feedback from the residents as well as with the quality of work the Force Account Unit has done.
Approximately seven roads were completed in the community during the past two weeks, including Gilhuys Square, Shopper’s Lane, Crescent Street, Industrial Site road, and Ice House road.
GINA said Ferguson, during the inspection, lauded Lawrence Mentis, Chief Engineer of the Force Account Unit, and his team for a job well done, as the roads, prior to now, were impassable in some areas, while others were in a serious state of disrepair.
