Lennox ‘2 Sharpe’ Allen was undefeated before his fight against Istvan Zeller on Saturday night.
It stayed that way after the fight at the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia.
The New York-based light heavyweight prospect won the third fight off his 2015 campaign in familiar fashion, stopping his 25-year old opponent via a second round TKO.
‘2 Sharpe’ sliced through Gonsalves defence and dropped him with a left hook to the head. Gonsalves then went down for the 10-count at one minute, 40 seconds of round seven in the scheduled eight-rounder.
The undefeated Allen, 166 pounds of Brooklyn, NY is now 20-0-1 with 13 knockouts. Zeller, 167lbs of Kistarcsa, Hungary dropped to 24-8-0.
In an invited comment to Stabroek Sport yesterday, Allen who KO’d Kojo Issah (round two) in January and Paul Gonsalves in April disclosed that he is looking forward for a world title crack mid next year.
Said the 30-year old southpaw, “Right now we are looking for one of the top 10 guys because I hope to fight for a world title in May or June of 2016.”
