GraceKennedy has announced a recall of its filled evaporated milk in Guyana due to some omissions on the label and will be refunding its customers.
According to an advertisement from the Kingston, Jamaica-based firm, published in today’s newspaper, the company is recalling the product due to an advisory from the Government Analyst-Food and Drug Department (GA-FDD).
The GA-FDD indicated that the label should include design changes and an indication that the evaporated milk, which is sold in 385 grammes cans and contains vegetable fat or oil, is not suitable for children under two years of age.
Consumers will be refunded the full cost of the product on return of the cans to the point of purchase.
The advertisement stated that Grace Foods Chief Supply Chain Officer Dianne Robinson pointed out that the class three recall is the lowest category and does not affect any other Grace product and is limited to Guyana only.
