City deploys street sweepers

Two new street sweepers will be deployed in the ongoing efforts to clean up the city.

The street sweepers, which cost £40,000 each, were purchased by Cevons Waste Management, which has been contracted to carry out 60% of the operations.

According to CEO of Cevons, Morris Archer, citizens can look forward to streets clean enough for persons to lay on as the machines would take the cleaning of Georgetown to another level.

Archer further explained that most of the commercial streets around the city will be targeted for frequent cleaning while the cross streets will be swept once a week.

The street sweepers are expected to begin work from 8pm nightly.
