Two men are in police custody after they were found with almost 1.5 kilos of cannabis in a car at Eccles, East Bank Demerara yesterday.
According to Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum, the discovery was made yesterday after ranks saw the occupants of the car, who have been identified as Lloyd Sadloo, 34 of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara and Howard Rambharose, acting suspiciously.
He said ranks gave chase and after intercepting the men they uncovered 1.452 kilogrammes of cannabis. The two men were arrested.
Stabroek News was told that during the chase an MMC security service vehicle, which was in the area at the time, assisted the police. The vehicle, however, toppled and a security guard sustained minor injuries.
