LONDON, CMC — Bermuda internationals Nahki Wells and Reggie Lambe both scored to guide their respective English teams, Huddersfield Town and Mansfield Town, to victory last night.
Wells netted in the 58th minute — his third goal of the season .
Striker Wells, 25, netted in the 58th minute — his third goal of the season after a two-month goal drought — to set up Huddersfield’s 2-0 home win against MK Dons in a Championship match.
Midfielder Lambe, 24, headed promotion-chasing Mansfield to a dramatic 1-0 victory in the 10th minute of injury time at lowly League Two rivals Yeovil Town.
Wells gave Huddersfield the lead after capitalising on a poor backpass by Kyle McFadzean. Substitute Jamie Paterson doubled the lead in the fifth minute of injury time to seal the club’s first win in four matches.
The win helped push Huddersfield up to 13th place in the standings.
Yeovil goalkeeper Artur Krysiak suffered a head injury in a goalmouth scramble to clear Lambe’s effort in the 73rd minute which caused a lengthy delay.
But Lambe was not to be denied, grabbing his first goal of the season at the death when he headed in Mitch Rose’s free kick.
Mansfield remain in fourth place, one below the automatic promotion spots.
Another Bermudian plying his trade in Britain, 19-year-old striker Rai Simons, came on as a 75th minute sub for League One club Chesterfield, who moved up to ninth place with a 3-0 home win over Southend United.
