This weekend’s Parsun Outboard Inter-county Softball championships received additional sponsorship from Crown Mining Supplies and Technical Services Inc., the title sponsors for the Linden All Star and Berbice B team respectively.
The two-day tournament is jointly sponsored by Digicel, Crown Mining Supplies and Stag Beer.
Organiser Parmanand “Max” Persaud received the sponsorship cheques at a simple ceremony last week while Bhisham Persaud, Director of Crown Mining Supplies said that he was pleased to sponsor the lone Linden team in the competition and was confident his team will do well in the tournament thereby representing his brand well.
Khemraj Brijlall, Managing Director of Technical Services Inc., of Eccles, in referring to his team as the underdogs said they should not be underestimated and will surprise many on match day as he can guarantee strong crowd support for them.
Digicel’s Senior Sponsorship and Events Executive, Louanna Abrams, in handing over the sponsorship cheque, promised “fantastic” promotions and giveaways to heighten the day’s excitement.
The Original Palm Court also pledged their support with a timely contribution which will ensure players, officials and spectators have a memorable time. Sasha Lewis, Palm Court’s Events and Marketing Manager said they are proud to be associated with the resuscitation of the Softball Inter-country Championship which had been in the wilderness for 14 years.
