An advertisement was placed in yesterday’s Sunday Stabroek by Ram and McRae for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the investment agency Go-Invest and the minimum qualification for applicants is a Master’s Degree in Business, International Trade or a related area.
In addition to the degree, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management position in the private and/or public sector; an understanding of regional and international trade agreements; proven experience in preparing reports for and dealing with the highest levels of management and government agencies. The ad said that proven success in operational restructuring will be an asset.
The ad says that the agency offers competitive conditions of employment. Applications can be sent to P.O. Box 10148 or to 157 `C’ Waterloo Street, Georgetown.
The closing date for applications is Friday, November 27, 2015.
According to the ad, the successful applicant will be responsible for “transforming the profile of Guyana as a destination for investors and facilitating the expansion of exports of Guyana’s products and services to traditional and nontraditional markets while managing the day to day operations of the Agency’s consistency with the highest standards of integrity, probity and the principles and rules of corporate governance”.
The former CEO of Go-Invest Keith Burrowes resigned in June of this year.
Questions had been raised about whether the post for CEO was going to be advertised. The Ministry of Business later clarified that the task of advertising for a CEO had been handed to the accounting firm Ram and McRae.
