Sandvoort, Fort Ordinance and Aurora Primary Schools were victorious in the second round of the Guyana Cricket Board/Scotiabank Kiddy Progression One cricket competition.
In the New Amsterdam/Canje District, Sandvoort Primary won the toss and decided to bat first posting 160/2 with Jarvis Southwell top-scoring with 32 and Nathan Christian supporting with 17
Extras contributed 70 runs to Sandvoort’s 160 all out.
Set 161 for victory Lochaber Primary found themselves 34 runs short of the target, when their overs expired.
Afraz Wahab made 19 and Sabrian 15. Bowling for Sandvoort, Kaylor Hope took 3/7 and Jarvis Southwell 2/2.
Over at All Saints Primary School cricket ground, Fort Ordinance Primary defeated Friends Primary by eight wickets. Friends Primary batting first, posted 116/2 in 14 overs. Simon Gaffoor and Zelline Peters each contributed 15. Bowling for Fort Ordinance Primary, Tracy Simon took two wickets for 13 runs.
In reply, Fort Ordinance eased to their target in just 10 overs for the loss of only two wickets.
Noel Brummel scored 41 which included six fours while Stephan Dindial scored 38.
In the Essequibo Coast District, Good Hope Primary won the toss against Aurora at Hibernia ground, South Coast of Essequibo, decided to bat first and scored 149/1. Joshawn Hackett top-scored with an unbeaten 53 while Narendra Dusrajh contributed 20. Gauri Seeraj took the lone wicket to fall.
In reply Aurora Primary reached 154/4 in 14 overs. Anil Williams made a valuable 35 and Sherwin Davson supporting him with 15. Bowling for Good Hope Primary, Narendra Dusrajh, Selwin Owner, Kumarie Ramjohn and Navindra Sukhu grabbed one wicket apiece. Aurora Primary won the match by six wickets.
Today the Scotiabank Kiddy Progression One Cricket competition continues at the Pomona ground located on the South of the Essequibo Coast, with Rivertown Primary doing battle with Huist Dieren Primary, and at the Racquet Centre in Georgetown where North Georgetown Primary will come up against St. Margaret’s Primary.
