The preliminary inquiry (PI) into the charge against Andel Forde, one of the men accused of killing sex worker Neefi Noel, began yesterday.
Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan is presiding over the PI.
The proceedings yesterday included witness testimonies from Joy Noel, the mother of the deceased, and a friend, Joseph Fraser, also known as ‘Peaches Carolina.’
On August 13th, Forde, 43, was arraigned on the charge of murdering Noel, also known as ‘Luther,’ on July 22nd at Quamina and Carmichael Streets. Businessman Kanand Ojha, the other suspect in the matter, has been on the run since then.
Police had said that around 2.35am on July 22nd, Noel was confronted by two men at Quamina and Carmichael streets and one of them shot him to the chest and escaped. He was later pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
