The Guyana Police Force yesterday issued a wanted bulletin for Gregory Emerson Hercules, who is accused of fatally beating his partner last week.
Hercules, 29, is wanted by the police for questioning about the murder of Arlene Morgou, who was killed sometime between last Friday and last Saturday at Port Kaituma, Region One.
Morgue, 28, bled to death at her home after being allegedly battered by the man, with whom she had been in a relationship during the past six years.
Stabroek News was told that Hercules, who worked at Eight Miles Backdam, Port Kaituma as a miner, had been informed last Friday by a relative that Morgou was in a relationship with another man. As a result, he immediately left for home, where he found the woman drinking with neighbours while the children were alone at home. In a fit of rage, he armed himself with a cutlass and piece of wood and allegedly dealt her several blows about her body, including to the head. She fell unconscious and was dragged from the neighbour’s house to her home where she eventually succumbed.
The woman is survived by her five children, who are between the ages of two months and nine years.
Anyone with information which may lead to his arrest is being asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 226-1333, 225-2722, 226-9941, 777-4007, 911 or the nearest police station.
Hercules’ last address, police said, was 1 ½ Miles, Port Kaituma, North West District.
