Mohanlall Dinanauth, Rishi Sukhram and Christine Sukhram led the way on the opening day of the fourth annual Digicel Guyana Cup Open which teed off at the Lusignan Golf Course yesterday.
The annual tournament, which features some 71 golfers from across the world and three lone females contenders, began with the ceremonial tee-off, done by Digicel Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James who praised both entities for continuing their partnership. Jointly, Dinanauth and Sukhram wrapped up the first day with a 76 gross each, setting the stage for a 0-9 handicap in today’s final day.
Defending champion in the female category Christine Sukhram, finished on top of the leaders board with a 73 net and an 82 gross in the Ladies Flight (0-36). Shanella Webster and former champion Joan Deo who have a net 74 each and are jointly tied in second with the latter having a gross of 94 and the former, and a gross of 95.
