The newborn baby who fell off a cot at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation is in a serious but stable condition.
On Wednesday the GPHC issued a release in which it said the infant had fallen off the cot on which he was place an hour after his birth on November 3rd and he sustained injuries.
The release further noted that “appropriate laboratory tests were conducted which revealed some injuries. His condition is being closely monitored and the matter is under investigation.”
Stabroek News has been informed that the child who was born to Poulmattie Ramjattan of Unity Village suffered a contusion as a result of his fall. While he is breastfeeding he is presently under supervised care to determine the exact nature of his injuries.
