Two suspects are currently in police custody after the armed attack on a group of moneychangers on America Street on Tuesday night.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed yesterday that a suspect was arrested on Wednesday evening and another was captured yesterday, while the hunt for the others continues.
Stabroek News was told that the two men who are currently in custody are known to the police.
Several moneychangers were robbed by the gunmen, who were reportedly armed with automatic weapons when they arrived on motorbikes. The men pulled up at the intersection of Longden and America streets and fired shots into the air, while demanding the moneychangers hand over everything.
