ESPN to broadcast Cricket All Stars T20 Series

Beginning today, DIRECTV will broadcast matches of the Cricket All-Stars T20 Series which is being played in the United States of America.

The Cricket All Stars series will feature former batting greats and cricket icons Sachin Tendulkar of India and Brian Lara of the West Indies along with Lara’s compatriot Sir Curtly Ambrose.

Today’s match will be played in New York City while the other two matches are scheduled for Houston on November 11 and Los Angeles on November 14.

According to a press release from DIRECTV:”ESPN has entered into an agreement to deliver coverage of the upcoming “Cricket All-Stars” series to fans around the world. DIRECTV is making it available to Caribbean subscribers on ESPN Caribbean and DIRECTV Play.”

The Cricket All-Stars Series will feature 30 of the most recognizable names in recent cricket history and apart from the trio mentioned previously, other stars such as Australia’s Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting and Glenn McGrath, England’s Michael Vaughan and Graeme Swann, India’s Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag, Pakistan’s Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq, South Africa’s– Jonty Rhodes and Jacques Kallis and Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara will be in action at Major League Baseball stadiums for the first time ever.

Host venues for each of the three matches are Citi Field, Minute Maid Park and Dodger Stadium – homes for the New York Mets, Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers, respectively.
