Topp XX and Silver Shattas opened their Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) first division league with victories defeating Amelia’s Ward Panthers and Eagles FC 2-1 respectively when the championship continued on Thursday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground.
Glenroy Noel and Shawn Daniels ensured Topp XX claimed the come-from- behind win as they found the back of the net in the 61st and 68th minutes respectively. On target for the losing team in the 53rd minute was Jermin Batson.
Silver Shattas walked away with the vital three point’s compliments of goals from Kellon Adams and Oswald Drakes in the 44th and 56th minutes respectively. Finding the back of the net in the loss was Rolex John in the 43rd minute.
Action in the tourney will continue tomorrow at the same venue. In the opening fixture at 18:00hrs, High Stars will oppose Netrockers while the feature contest of the night will pit Milerock against Blueberry Hill from 20:00hrs.
