Dear Editor,
It would be remiss of me not to place on record my appreciation to the management and staff of John Lewis Styles on Waterloo Street, Georgetown for affording me a pleasant shopping experience. This was my first visit to the store since recently returning to Guyana.
I went to John Lewis Styles on Monday, 2 November, to make a purchase, and from entering the parking area I was met with an inviting atmosphere and security/doormen that were more than willing to welcome me to the establishment. Upon entering the store, the warm atmosphere was complemented by welcoming smiles and greetings from the staff members, all of whom seem very happy to not only be at work, but to be of assistance to persons entering the store. I was directed in the most professional manner to the area where I could find what it was I was there to purchase, and was attended to by a cheerful and knowledgeable staff member, who took the time to ensure that I was completely satisfied with my choice and informed me of like items in the store which I may find interest in.
Not only was I pleasantly received into the store, but I also received wishes for a great day on departing.
This pleasant experience set the tone for my day, and I felt encouraged to continue my day in a cheerful and happy manner ‒ what else could one do after being afforded such a beautiful start to what started off as a not-so-pleasant day.
There are I am sure a few other establishments in Guyana where one could have such an experience, and as consumers we should gave praise where deserved in the same vein as we criticize shabby service providers.
Kudos to the management and staff of John Lewis Styles, and especially to the two young ladies in the Ladies Wear Department who not only ensured that I was pleased with my purchase, but went the extra mile to compliment the look of the purchase on my feet.
Keep up the good work guys!
Yours faithfully,
Allison Greenidge
