Republic Bank to play Foreign Affairs as Futsal knockout stage commences

Following the conclusion of the group round on Thursday, the round of 16 stage of the inaugural Banks Beer Futsal Championship will kick off tonight at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

In the opening fixture at 18:30hrs, Oasis Water will lock horns with John Fernandes Limited while the second fixture of the night will pit Republic Bank against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 19:00hrs.

The third fixture will then witness favourites Customs locking horns with the Ministry of Agriculture at 19:30hrs while in the fourth showdown, Transport and Harbours will faceoff with the Ministry of Infrastructure from 20:00hrs.

In the fifth fixture, the Barbers Association will lock horns with the New GPC from 20:30hrs while the Banks DIH Limited will tackle the Guyana Fire Service in the sixth matchup from 21:00hrs.

At 21:30hrs, the Ministry of the Presidency will oppose the Mayor and City Council (MCC) while the final matchup of the night will pit the Ministry of Health against Hopkinson Mining from 22:00hrs. Action in the knockout win continues tomorrow at the same venue with the quarterfinal section.

Winner of the event will receive the championship trophy and $200,000 while the second, third and fourth positioned team will receive $150,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
