The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) Co-operative Credit Society says the Cooperatives Division’s stay on the auditing of its accounts is preventing the holding of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the pay-out of dividends and interest rebates to members.
A press release from the Society stated that in keeping with the organisation’s rules, its 2014 accounts have to be audited before it can hold the AGM by yearend, thereby allowing it to make the payments.
