Three Lindeners were yesterday placed on $100,000 bail each after they denied raiding a house and carting off almost $500,000 in valuables.
It is alleged that on November 9th, at Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, Preston Skeete, 19, a wash bay attendant of Lot 1103 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, Lennox Estwick, 24, of Lot 636 South Amelia’s Ward, Linden, and Jermaine Mitchell, a porter of Lot 1640 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, stole a quantity of items, including electronics, valued $436,000 and belonging to Cheryl Wills.
The trio pleaded not guilty to the charge, which was read to them in a Georgetown court yesterday by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Skeete was also charged separately with having some of the stolen items in his possession on the same date and he also denied that crime.
No further details about the theft were given to the court.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones informed the court that the stolen items were recovered and had no objections to bail but asked for it to be substantial.
As a result, the three unrepresented defendants were each granted bail and ordered to return to court on November 25th, when the matter will be heard at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
