CENTURION, South Africa, CMC-West Indies T20 all-rounder Kieron Pollard was influential in the field as Cape Cobras romped to a five-wicket victory over Dolphins in South Africa’s Ram Slam T20 here yesterday.
Pollard scored seven, took one wicket and two catches including the one that dismissed Pietersen.
Pollard, who picked up just one wicket for 32 runs, took two catches including a crucial one to dismiss the prolific Kevin Pietersen for an enterprising half century, to help restrict Dolphins to 148 for nine in their 20 overs.
Pietersen helped himself to six fours and three sixes as he blasted a 35-ball 59 after Dolphins opted to bat at Centurion.
His latest score takes his tally for the season to 364 runs following scores of 115*, 100* and 68.
Pietersen received little support as Wayne Parnell grabbed four for 20 including the wicket of Pollard’s countryman Dwayne Bravo, who was caught without scoring, from the delivery that followed Pietersen’s demise.
Bravo picked up a wicket for 35 runs but Cobras sauntered to the target, reaching 152 for five with two balls remaining.
