The implementation of the Berbice River taxi service has seen 62,465 passengers, from September 21 to November 7, 2015, using the service between New Amsterdam and Rosignol, a release from the Ministry of Public Infrastructure said on Monday.
This was announced by Minister David Patterson on Monday during a press conference in his Boardroom, Wight’s Lane, Kingston.
According to him, the operation of the river taxis continues to exceed expectations since the Ministry initiated the service.
The service was implemented by the government after it and the Berbice Bridge Inc failed to reach agreement on the lowering of tolls.
