Queen’s College and St John’s College booked semi-final spots in the North Georgetown zone defeating Marian Academy and Bishop’s High respectively in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) National Secondary School Cricket League (NSSCL) sponsored by Bank’s DIH Ltd., Coca-Cola Rainforest Water and Digicel.
Playing at the Everest Cricket club ground, Queen’s College defeated Marian Academy by 10 wickets.
Batting first, Marian Academy was dismissed for 38 runs in 12.1 overs.
Queen’s College in reply, reached 39-0 in 11 overs.
At DCC, Bishop’s High was beaten by St John’s College by 34 runs.
Batting first, St John’s College scored 111 all out in 23 overs.
Odida Douglas scored 21. Bowling for Bishop’s High, Lakeram Narine had 4/23 off six overs, Daniel Singh, 3/17 and Campton Seepersaud 2/26.
In reply, Bishop’s High fell for 77 in the 28th over. Christopher Campbell captured 4-11.
Meanwhile, Central High School defeated Freeburg Secondary at the Everest Cricket Club ground. Central High School scored 222/6 in 25 overs.
Lionel Holder top scored with 55 and Reaz Ally 54. Bowling for Freeburg Secondary, Clinton Redmon took 3/32 and Junior Simon 2/14.
In reply, Freeburg was dismissed for 53 in 13.2 overs. Omar Harry took 3/3, Deonarine Nwon, 2/10 and Lionel Holder 2/2.
Today, action continues in the North Georgetown Zone with St John’s College battling Queen’s College at the DCC ground while Charlestown Secondary will play Central High School at the Thirst Park ground.
