Parika Defenders will clash with favourites and the red hot Regal Masters softball team on Saturday in the male final of the Petama Enterprise/ Motor Trend Softball competition at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground.
In the female Open final Trophy Stall Angels will oppose Wellwoman.
The male Open final is at the semi-final stage with Die Hard Brothers of Essequibo set to clash Saturday morning from 9.30am at the Guyana National Industrial Corporation ground with Regal while Adventure Sports Club will oppose Wolf Warriors in the second semi-final.
The two winning teams will clash in the male Open final Saturday evening.
The two Masters teams Regal Masters and Parika Defenders, won last Sunday’s semi-finals to set up their eagerly awaited finals clash.
In the first semi-final Sunday, Regal Masters defeated Park Rangers by 99 runs.
Batting first, Regal Masters scored 213-3-20 overs with Eon Abel slamming an unbeaten century (110 n.o) while Rudolph Baker supported with 64 not out.
Park Rangers in reply fell for 114 in 18 overs with Talesh Ramoutar 24, the top scorer. Mahendra Arjune 2-15 and Mahendra Hardyal 2-34 were the principal wicket takers.
In the second semi-final Parika Defenders defeated Fishermen Masters by 31 runs.
In a low scoring encounter Parika Defenders could only muster 119 all out from their 20 overs with Faslim Bacchus 28 and Asif Ahmad 25, the top scorers.
Bowling for Fishermen Masters L. Persaud picked up 4-23 and Jagdesh Persaud 2-23.
Fishermen Masters in reply were dismissed for 88 from 17.3 overs with R. Persaud 26, the main contributor.
Kabesh Persaud 3-8, Devanand Kannan 2-6 and Faslim Baksh 2-14 were the principal wicket takers.
The final is expected to get underway at 5pm and teams are asked to be there by 4.30pm for a prompt start.

The winning prize for the male Masters and male Open is $100,000.00 each with the runners-up teams receiving $25,000.00. The winner of the female match is $50,000.00 with the runner-up set to receive $20,000.00.
The Most Valuable Player for the three finals will receive a trophy plus $5,000.00 each while the Player of the Series for the three categories will receive trophies and $5,000.00.
Admission is free.
No Player will be allowed to play with steel spikes (pegs).
