The Department of Culture’s official website – www.50guyana.com was activated on Wednesday as the Ministry of Education begins preparation for Guyana’s 50th Independence anniversary.
The locally designed website’s focal point is a calendar of events outlining activities planned for 2016, a Ministry release said. It features links to venues, accommodation navigation, volunteer registration, maps, Facebook and Twitter, and will be updated with verified data as soon as it is made available.
The Ministry expects the 50th anniversary theme of Reflect, Celebrate and Inspire will be realised – by informing the future with lessons learnt from the past, celebrating the unity in the country’s diverse culture and inspiring the youth to attain heights in the next 50 years.
