The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is expected to soon commence the new motor vehicle registration series VV for privately registered vehicles, buses, trailers and goods vehicles (inclusive of vans and lorries.)
According to a GRA press release yesterday, the new VV series will follow the current “TT” series which commenced in November 13, 2014 and prior to that the “SS” series which commenced on November 25 of the previous year.
In addition, the GRA also issued a reminder to motor vehicle owners of the validity of the motor vehicle licence being one year after its initial registration; hence the necessity to renew the same annually, on or before the anniversary of the vehicle registration.
Of note also, GRA said, newly registered vehicles or vehicles which underwent changes ie of colour or engine number must be physically examined by the Licence Revenue Office. All registrations and change of motor vehicle registrations are facilitated at the GRA Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, Georgetown; however, vehicle examinations are done at GRA’s former Smythe Street office and all regional integrated offices.
