The hunt for the man who allegedly stabbed a Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) worker fatally and threw her out of the car was called off yesterday after the man turned himself over to the police.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed yesterday that the man who allegedly murdered Melissa Skeete surrendered himself to the police yesterday in the
presence of his lawyer. He is currently in an A division lock ups and is assisting with the investigation.
Skeete had just left work at the GPHC and had entered the car of the suspect only to return sometime later with multiple stab wounds. Stabroek News had reported that Skeete was stabbed and tossed out of the vehicle onto Carmichael Street where a taxi driver stopped and rushed her to the hospital. She succumbed to her injuries while she was undergoing surgery.
