The body of a man, clad only in a long-sleeved shirt and underwear, washed ashore behind the Marriott Hotel at Kingston yesterday afternoon.
Some guests at the hotel said they spotted the body around 2 pm, floating at the edge of the beach, but they were not certain whether it was a dead animal or a human.
The man, who was of African descent, appeared to be in his early thirties. His body was face down and partially-submerged. When the body was lifted out of the water, blood mixed with what appeared to be froth was oozing from the dead man’s mouth.
There were no visible marks of violence on the body.
The corpse was transported to Lyken Funeral Home, where it awaits identification.
