The Bartica, Leguan, and Parika Stelling have all been slated for repairs worth a total of $76 million which should all commence next year.
According to a press release from the Transport and Harbours Department (T&HD) of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, the Bartica Stelling will receive $30 million worth of rehabilitation that will cover major works including a change of the decking, fixing of piles, and upgrades to the office area and washrooms.
The Leguan stelling will see a $24 million sum put towards maintenance works on the driveway, decking, beams, piles, and the rehabilitation of the fender system.
Lastly, the Parika stelling will receive $22 million towards its rehabilitation which will include works to repair the roll on/roll off area and the fortification of the catwalk. While the Parika stelling has a dilapidated area, it will be tackled next year in a second phase.
All the repairs are expected to start early next year.
