Troy Resources Inc last week Friday poured its second gold bar, completing testing of its entire operation.
“The entire mine is now fully operational,” an official told Stabroek News. The first gold bar weighing 4.7kgs was produced using the gravity circuit and the second gold bar weighing 2kgs was produced using the main leach circuit which uses cyanide.
The official explained that the full activation of both circuits means that gold bars weighing 15kgs can now be poured on a regular basis.
A few months ago, Canadian miner Guyana Goldfields poured its first gold bar. Recently, it announced that it has produced over 17,000 ounces of gold so far this year and expects to produce approximately 30,000 ounces for 2015.
Troy has quickly followed suit in producing gold from its Region Seven mine. The Australian company has proposed a medium-scale gold mine designed to produce up to 110,000 ounces of gold per annum based on an average overall recovery of 92% at the Black Water Creek, Kaburi Area, in Region Seven.
The mine will be focused on the recovery of ore for processing from Smarts and Hicks gold deposits. The project components include an open cut mine, processing plant, tailings storage facility, mine site accommodation and additional infrastructure required to recover and to process ore for the recovery of gold.
