For persons with disabilities: As part of activities to mark International Day for Persons with Disabilities, observed on December 3rd, the Ministry of Social Protection in collaboration with the National Commission on Disability yesterday commissioned ramps around the ministry’s Brickdam compound. These ramps, along with the painting of a yellow border on the steps of the ministry—the latter of which was done to assist those who are visually-impaired—are intended to make the ministry a more user-friendly environment for the differently-abled. The enhancement of the ministry’s compound was financed through donations made by Komal Singh. In photo, Junior Minister of Social Protection Simona Broomes (standing second from right) and other officials look on as Audrey Bowling (centre) cuts the ribbon in front of the ministry to commission the new ramps.
