Pouderoyen FC and Uitvlugt Warriors will compete in the finale of the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Knockout Cup, downing Stewartville and Beavers FC respectively in the semi-final round on Sunday.
Hosted at the Den Amstel Community ground, Pouderoyen downed Stewartville by a 3-0 margin. Winston Johnson opened the scoring for the winner in the 20th minute before Cleveland Walcott doubled their advantage as he found the back of the net in the 55th minute.
The win was then sealed in the 70th minute as Danford Williams added his name to the scorer’s sheet. In the other semi-final, Uitvlugt downed Beavers by a 1-0 margin. Seon Bobb separated the two side’s compliments of a 38th minute strike.
Due to their respective wins, Pouderoyen and Uitvlugt will now lock horns in the finale at the same venue on December 6th from 15:30hrs. Prior to the finale, Beavers will take on Stewartville in the third place playoff.
