Police in `F’ Division (interior locations) last Friday night discovered two guns, a quantity of matching ammunition and a silencer hidden among bushes at Aprica Landing, Middle Mazaruni.
Divisional Commander Senior Superintendent Ravindradat Budhram confirmed that a man had been arrested and is assisting investigators.
Budhram told Stabroek News that ranks acting on information went to Piacha Landing around 7 pm and made contact with the suspect who was in a building. Information later led ranks to bushes were an M 16 rifle and 4 magazines along with a shot gun and 26 matching rounds and a shotgun were found.
According to Budhram ballistics tests will commence shortly.
