The sixth edition of the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) Titan Bowl will officially commence tomorrow December 13th at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The event which is expected to conclude on December 13th at the same venue, will feature nine of the nation’s leading basketball institutions competing over an initial round-robin format. Following the conclusion of the group stage, the top four teams will advance to the semi-final round.
The competing schools are the Georgetown Technical Institute (GTI), Marian Academy, Mackenzie High, Kwakwani Secondary, Linden Technical Institute, the Bishops’ High, President’s College, St. Roses High and New Amsterdam Multilateral.
Pool-A of the event features GTI, Marian Academy and Mackenzie High while Pool-B will consist of Kwakwani Secondary, Linden Technical Institute (LTI) and the Bishops’ High.
On the other hand, Pool-C will comprise of President’s College, St. Roses High and New Amsterdam Multilateral. In the tourney opener at 15:00hrs, President’s College will oppose New Amsterdam Multilateral while Kwakwani will oppose Bishops’ High at 16:00hrs in the second match. At, 17:00hrs, Mackenzie High will oppose Marian Academy while St. Roses will lock horns with New Amsterdam Multilateral from 18:00hrs. In the final two fixtures, Kwakwani will tackle LTI at 19:00hrs and GTI will oppose Mackenzie High at 20:00 hrs.
The action will then continue on Saturday at the same venue, with St. Roses opposing President’s College from 15:00hrs and LTI opposing Bishops’ High from 16:00hrs. The final group fixture will then occur at 17:00hrs between GTI and Marian Academy.
Upon the conclusion of the group round, the two semi-finals will occur from 19:00hrs and 20:00hrs respectively. The grand finale of the event will then occur on Sunday at the same venue from 19:00hrs.
