Sahadeo Biswah, who police say confessed to a burglary after being found with a bag of stolen electronics, will be spending the next year in jail after he pleaded guilty yesterday to breaking and entering.
Biswah, 24, admitted in a city court that he broke and entered the dwelling house of Floyd Alexander and stole two amplifiers, two wrist watches, two computer speakers and a camera, totaling $205,000 in total value.
Biswah, who is self-employed and resides at Lot 3 First Avenue, Diamond New Scheme, committed the crime between December 7 and December 10, at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
According to prosecutor Deniro Jones, on December 10, Biswah aroused the suspicions of police officers on patrol at Stabroek Market when they saw him with a large red and black travelling bag.
He was then approached by the police officers and a search was conducted on the bag, which resulted in the discovery of the stolen amplifiers. Jones said Biswah then informed the police that the items were given to him but later confessed to stealing them.
