Residents of several homes for children and the elderly in Georgetown experienced the joy of Christmas when over 150 Scotiabankers and their families went carolling through the city streets last Friday evening, a release from the bank said.
The bunch was led by singers and musicians from the Tina Insanally Foundation and Mr. and Mrs. Claus, played by Scotiabank Managers Chikere Stewart and Parmeshwar Budhu, the release said. Residents of the Nazareth Home, Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre, St. Ann’s Orphanage, Joshua House and St. Vincent De Paul Homestead welcomed the carollers as they belted out “Scotiabank is coming to town” and “We wish you a merry Christmas”.
The annual caroling event comes under the Bank’s Community Programme, which employees and the public look forward to each year.
Each home received hampers filled with holiday goodies while the children’s homes also received toys for everyone, compliments of the Bank’s employees. The Dharm Shala also received a hamper from the Bank.
