Dear Editor,
It is good to see the public servants being remembered with a gift of cash this Christmas.
What about the pensioners, will we be forgotten? Should auld acquaintance be forgot/And never brought to mind?
So, for the sake of auld lang syne, in the style of the traditional Christmas nursery rhyme I say:
Christmas is coming
The goose is getting fat
Please put something good in the old ones’ hats
You took away our subsidies
And now we feel the pinch
Oh please, oh please
Don’t be a Grinch
